Rob Zombie’s “House of 1000 Corpses” turns 20 this year. To celebrate, American Cinematheque and Lionsgate are hosting a special free screening of the film at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, CA.
This special screening will take place on Thursday, April 13, at 7:30 PM and will be followed by a Q&A with writer/director Rob Zombie and film star Sheri Moon Zombie. Those interested must RSVP through American Cinematique; however, seats are not guaranteed, and admission is first come, first served.
“House of 1000 Corpses” was Rob Zombie’s directorial debut and an homage to 70s-style horror and camp. The film was the first in the Firefly family trilogy. It introduced us to the iconic characters Captain Spaulding, Otis Driftwood, and Baby Firefly, played by Sid Haig, Bill Mosely, and Sheri Moon Zombie. The film tells of a family of backwoods sadists who plunge two young couples into a nightmare world of torture, satanic ritual, and cannibalism.
