DANGEN Entertainment has announced that the 2D indie psychological thriller “Loretta” will be released on April 11, 2024, on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series digital stores.
Conceptually inspired by film noir, “Loretta” makes players an accessory to a woman’s crimes as she navigates her husband’s infidelity and spirals into a nightmare of her own creation.
Loretta is a housewife, and her husband, Walter, is a writer. Dragged from the glitz and glamor of 1940s New York City and thrust into a dilapidated farmhouse in the rural South, both are unsuccessful, struggling with their finances and straining in their relationship. But when Loretta learns of her husband’s infidelity and a lucrative life insurance policy filed in his name, a grisly plan takes root. It is up to the player to decide how far she should take it.
“Loretta” features branching paths and multiple endings, allowing for a custom experience and opportunity for replay. Players will come across a diverse cast of characters who may want to help or hinder Loretta as she tries to recover from the betrayal of a love gone wrong. Solve cryptic puzzles, dive deeper into Loretta’s imperfect past, and discover how deep her desperation will go when it comes to reclaiming control of her life. Decide Loretta’s fate and explore the possible outcomes that await her. Will you walk the high road and move on, or will you serve those who have wronged you their just desserts?
Pre-orders for “Loretta” on Nintendo Switch are available now. Xbox pre-orders will arrive on April 4, and both will have a 20% discount. No pre-orders are planned for PlayStation.
“Loretta” was initially released on PC in February 2023. The game is currently available for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG.
