Netflix on Wednesday released the full trailer and a series of first-look images for “A Classic Horror Story,” a film tribute to the Italian genre tradition that, starting from classic references, comes to create something entirely new.
In “A Classic Horror Story,” five people carpooling in an RV crash during the night while trying to avoid an animal in the roadway. When they regain consciousness, they find themselves in the middle of nowhere. The road they were traveling on has disappeared; now, there is only a dense and impenetrable wood and a wooden house in the middle of a clearing. They will soon discover that it is the home of an unmentionable cult. How did they get there? What really happened after the accident? Who are the masked creatures depicted in the paintings in the house? Will they be able to trust each other to try and get out of the nightmare they have been trapped in?
Directed by Roberto De Feo and Paolo Strippoli, from a screenplay by Lucio Besana, Roberto De Feo, Paolo Strippoli, Milo Tissone, David Bellini, “A Classic Horror Story” was shot over five weeks in Puglia and Rome, and stars Matilda Lutz, Francesco Russo, Peppino Mazzotta, Yulia Sobol, Will Merrick, Alida Baldari Calabria and Cristina Donadio.
The new Netflix film, produced by Colorado Film, will be presented in Competition at the 67th edition of the Taormina Film Fest 2021, held from June 27 to July 3, 2021. The film will then be available from July 14, 2021, only on Netflix.
