A24 and IMAX are teaming up for a series of new monthly screening events that will bring remastered versions of some of A24’s films to IMAX for the first time. Among the films announced is the 2018 horror “Hereditary.”
“Hereditary” is the feature film debut of director Ari Aster and follows Annie (Toni Collette), her husband (Gabriel Byrne), son (Alex Wolff), and daughter (Milly Shapiro) as they navigate the loss of Annie’s mentally ill mother. Working through their grief, they begin to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited.
“Hereditary” will come to IMAX on April 24, 2024. Tickets are not yet available, but once released, they will be available at IMAX.com.
The A24 x IMAX screening series will showcase classic A24 films never before seen in IMAX. The series kicks off on March 27 with “Ex Machina,” followed by “Hereditary” on April 24 and “Uncut Gems” on May 22.
