Max has announced that A24’s 2024 horror “Heretic,” starring Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher, and Chloe East, will make its streaming debut exclusively on Max in the U.S. on Friday, March 7, 2025. The film will debut on HBO linear on Saturday, March 8, at 8 PM ET.
Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, “Heretic” tells of two young missionaries forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed, becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
The film opened on November 15, 2024, in the U.S. and has become one of A24’s biggest movies ever, earning $57.4 million worldwide.
