‘Alien: Romulus’ Coming Home on Digital in October and Physical Media in December

The latest chapter in the “Alien” franchise, “Alien: Romulus,” will be available on October 15, 2024, via digital retailers like Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. The film will get physical releases on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on December 3.

The upcoming at-home release will allow fans to delve deeper into the “Alien” franchise courtesy of all-new exclusive bonus features, including featurettes with filmmakers Fede Alvarez and Ridley Scott, behind-the-scenes content, and alternate and extended scenes.

Digital fans will have the choice of bringing home “Alien: Romulus” on its own or as a special 2-Movie Collection celebrating the 45th anniversary of the original 1979 sci-fi thriller “Alien.” The digital bundle will feature both “Alien” and “Alien: Romulus” in 4K UHD, HD, and SD starting on October 15.

For physical media collectors, “Alien: Romulus” is being released on 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital, Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD+ Digital), and DVD. The 4K UHD physical release will also be available as a limited-edition collectible SteelBook with custom artwork and packaging.

Directed by Fede Alvarez, “Alien: Romulus” marks the start of a new chapter in the franchise, featuring a brand-new story and all-new creatures and characters. While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young colonizers come face-to-face with the most relentless and deadly life form in the universe.

The film stars Cailee Spaeny (“Civil War”), David Jonsson (“Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy”), Archie Renaux (“Shadow and Bone”), Isabela Merced (“The Last of Us”), Spike Fearn (“Aftersun”), and Aileen Wu.

“Alien: Romulus” is Certified-Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and has already thrilled audiences at the box office, becoming the second highest-grossing film in the Alien franchise globally.
