On Monday, as part of its Upfront, AMC Networks unveiled several horror-related opportunities for advertisers. Among the announcements was the return of Janelle Monáe as the “HalloQueen” of AMC Networks’ annual Fall Halloween programming event, FearFest.
Monáe, an award-winning artist, musician, and horror enthusiast, debuted as host of the long-running, annual horror and genre programming event last Halloween season, during which more than 1.3 billion minutes of horror content were consumed.
For 2025, Monáe will host the celebration of screams with all new content wrapping linear, streaming, and social feeds each week. Throughout the month, she will spotlight her passion for all things horror.
“I have always deeply admired the horror genre – the craftsmanship, the artists, and the collective storytelling that brings these films to life,” said Monáe. “Horror is a space to explore fears, push boundaries, and reinvent filmmaking. I’m excited to continue celebrating the genre with AMC Networks and FearFest, creating bold, electrifying, and terrifying moments while honoring the iconic films that established the art and the exciting new voices that make up the next generation of horror.”
For over 25 years, FearFest has been a highly anticipated annual Halloween event for horror fans, featuring hundreds of hours of films, shows, and more to celebrate the month of October. In recent years, the event has expanded beyond just AMC to include content across AMC+ and social media.
