Earlier this year, Nickelodeon announced that the cult classic anthology series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” would be making a comeback as a brand-new miniseries in October. Today, Deadline reported that the members of the Midnight Society have now been cast.
The new members of the Midnight Society are Sam Ashe Arnold (Best.Worst.Weekend.Ever.), Miya Cech (Rim of the World), Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl, The Worst Witch), Jeremy Taylor (It, Goosebumps 2:Haunted Halloween), Lyliana Wray (Top Gun: Maverick, Black-ish).
In the original “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” the Midnight Society would gather around a campfire to tell scary stories and those stories would unfold in each week’s episode. In the new miniseries, things will change a bit and the Midnight Society begin telling a tale about the Carnival of Doom, only to have the story come to life.
The the three-episode hourlong limited series is slated to premiere in October. Originally the release of the miniseries was supposed to coincide with the release of the Are You Afraid of the Dark? film from Paramount Pictures, but the film’s October release has since been postponed.
