Audio Series ‘The October Children’ Returns for the 2022 Halloween Season

In 2019, author and multimedia artist Patrick Tumblety brought something unique to the Halloween season. It wasn’t a podcast but an audio series called “The October Children,” built on the age-old tradition of telling scary stories. Each week in October, leading up to Halloween, Tumblety would release a new episode featuring short stories, poetry, and music created for the sole purpose of celebrating the season. This October, “The October Children” returns with an all-new series of short stories and poems to get you in the Halloween spirit.

The first episode arrives on October 1, with new episodes released each Monday leading up to Halloween. In addition to his works, Patrick has tapped some yet-to-be-announced guest writers for this year’s series. Each episode is what I would call “fun-size,” usually running around five minutes or so, the perfect length to get you in the Halloween spirit without cutting into all your Halloween activities.

The new season of “The October Children” will be available via The October Children website. If you missed out on the first season or wish to revisit it, the original episodes are expected to return sometime next week. While you’re there, you can sign up for The October Children newsletter, which will send out extra goodies to celebrate the Halloween season throughout the month.

Patrick Tumblety is a horror and sci-fi writer whose works have been published in several story collections. His most recently published story, “Bait & Tackle,” appears in the horror anthology “The Dead Inside,” released earlier this year.
