On Friday, Netflix Geeked hosted its “Fear Street Trilogy” panel featuring “Fear Street” director Leigh Janiak, cast members Kiana Madeira, Olivia Scott Welch, Benjamin Flores Jr., and “Fear Street” author R.L. Stine. During the panel, moderator Terri Schwartz from Netflix Geeked asked the cast of the film what some of their favorite kills from the film trilogy were before turning to the series author to ask what he felt was the best kill he had ever written in a “Fear Street” book.
Laughing, Stine responded, “You know, no one ever asked me that question before.” But the author quickly followed up with the one he was “really proud of.” The kill comes from a very recent “Fear Street” novel called “The Lost Girl.” The kill takes place behind a horse stable where a teenage girl is watching as two men tie her father to the ground using stakes. The men then cover the man in honey and oats before releasing a stable full of starving horses who quickly descend upon the oats and honey, devouring tasty treats along with the young girl’s father.
As Stine describes the kill from the book, the cast from the film series is visibly disturbed cringing as they began to realize exactly what would happen to the man in the story, which is amusing considering they put a girl’s head through a bread slicer in the film.
Schwartz followed up her question by saying, “When I asked that question, I was ready for anything. And yet somehow still unprepared for that answer.”
