Back in April, we learned that Christine McConnell’s Netflix series “The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell” had been canceled by Netflix after just one season. The macabre Martha Stewart-like series featured McConnell as she showed off how to make some of her amazing food creations while managing a house full of misfit critters created by The Henson Alternative–an offshoot of The Jim Henson Company. Today, McConnell took to social media to announce her next project, “From the Mind of Christine McConnell,” which will debut its first episode tomorrow on YouTube.
“From the Mind of Christine McConnell” is a new monthly series that is being made possible thanks to the support of McConnell’s Patrons on Patreon. One episode of the series will be released each month on McConnell’s public YouTube channel, with Patrons receiving a link for exclusive access to an additional monthly episode. Along with an extra episode, Patrons are being offered a number of special bonuses like invites to a monthly Q&A, downloads of the original score from each month’s episode, signed photos, personalized holiday cards and more.
McConnell did not share what format the new series will take, but on the Patreon page, McConnell wrote, “I have loved sharing my art since I was a kid and am so thrilled to have an outlet to showcase the variety of different skills I’ve cultivated since that time. This new series seems like the ideal way I can continue doing what I love, while also continuing to give you the best of what I have to offer!”
The Patreon page does list McConnell as “creating Instructional Content,” so perhaps this will be similar to the baking segments we saw in “The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell” on Netflix. I guess we’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out!
Fans of McConnell will also have a chance to catch her in person when she makes an appearance next month at Midsummer Scream during “The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell” panel on Sunday, August 4.
