The highly anticipated sequel to Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice” is set to arrive in theaters this September. And while we still haven’t gotten a trailer, Entertainment Weekly has released a pair of first-look images that give us our first peek at the sequel’s cast.
In the first-look images, we see returning stars, such as Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, Winona Ryder as Lydia, and Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz. It also shows newcomers Jenna Ortega as Lydia’s daughter, Astrid, and Justin Theroux as Rory. Check out the images below:
The original “Beetlejuice” followed the characters Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin), who, after a fatal car accident, return to their home as ghosts only to find a new family, the Deetz, moving in. The two enlist the aid of “bio-exorcist” Beetlejuice to rid the home of the new residents, and chaos ensues.
Burton told Entertainment Weekly in an interview that the sequel takes place decades after the original 1988 film when the group is brought together by a death in the family.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” arrives in theaters on September 6, 2024.
