The break-out horror film “Skinamarink” has been making a buzz in the horror space since it first arrived in theaters earlier this month. The film, which many say is impossible to categorize, has left some horror fans in awe and others scratching their heads. And while the film is set to arrive on horror streaming service Shudder on February 2, fans in the Los Angeles area will have the opportunity to experience the movie at its biggest-ever screening at the iconic Ace Theater in downtown L.A. that same night.
On February 2 at 7 PM, fans can partake in a one-night-only special screening of the film featuring “Skinamarink” writer and director Kyle Edward Ball for his first-ever Q&A in the U.S. Each fan in attendance will receive an exclusive mini poster.
The 100-minute film is set in 1995 and centers around a brother and sister who wake in the night to find their father is missing and all their windows and doors have vanished. To cope with the strange situation, the two bring pillows & blankets to the living room and settle into a quiet slumber party. They play well-worn videotapes of cartoons to fill the house’s silence and distract them from their terrifying new world. However, it soon becomes clear that something is watching over them.
Tickets for this special screening are available now through AXS and start at just $20.
