Brandy Returns to Horror in New Trailer for A24’s ‘The Front Room’

Singer-songwriter and actress Brandy is returning to the horror genre for the first time since starring in the 1998 sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” with A24’s “The Front Room.”

Written and directed by Max and Sam Eggers, “The Front Room” tells the story of newly-pregnant Belinda (Brandy), whose life becomes increasingly difficult after her father-in-law dies and his will requests that her husband (Andrew Burnap) allow his ailing stepmother (Kathryn Hunter) to move in.

Tensions rise as the diabolical guest seemingly wants to get her hands on the child, ultimately pitting the mother-to-be against her husband’s stepmom, and the trailer for the new movie seems to suggest it stems from religion, a Confederate past, and a possible possession by the Holy Ghost.

“The Front Room” is slated to arrive in theaters on September 6, 2024.
