If you’re craving a Whopper and your 2017 Halloween costume is Pennywise or any other terrifying clown, Burger King has a treat for you while it plays a trick on competitor McDonald’s. The fast-food chain’s latest Halloween stunt is called, #ScaryClownNight and it gives customers dressed as clowns on Halloween a free Whopper.  BK is advertising the promotion with the spot below:
The offer will be available on Tuesday, October 31 from 7 PM – 3 AM, but unfortunately will only be valid at five U.S. locations:
- 259 Cochituate Rd, Framingham, MA
- 1101 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL
- 545 N Victory Blvd, Burbank, CA
- 3001 Montopolis Drive, Austin, TX
- 3975 W 4700 S, Salt Lake City, UT
The promotion is also limited to the first 500 clowns and is not valid at the drive-through.
This isn’t the first time Burger King has played a trick on McDonald’s for Halloween. Last year, a Burger King location in Queens, New York dressed up as the ghost of McDonald’s covering itself in a giant white sheet and a sign that read: “Booooooo! Just kidding, we still flame grill our burgers. Happy Halloween.” This is also not their first jab at McDonald’s and their clown mascot. Earlier this month they premiered #NeverTrustAClown at the German premiere of Stephen King’s It.
