The new Harry Potter game from Niantic, the company behind “Pokemon Go,” and WB Games is finally gaining some visibility as the game makers released a first look at the new mobile game and opened pre-registration for players who want to be notified when the game is launched later this year.
Like “Pokemon Go,” “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” allows players to adventure together with friends in the real world using augmented reality and location information to uncover the world of magic around you. The game combines characters and content from both the original Harry Potter series as well as the Fantastic Beasts films for a unique wizarding world meets
In “Harry Potter: Wizards Unite” you play as a new recruit of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force. Established by the Ministry of Magic and the International Confederation of Wizards, you’re part of a team investigating the mystery of The Calamity, a mysterious force causing artifacts, creatures, people, and even memories to mysteriously appear in the Muggle world.
“Witches and wizards from across the globe must come together to solve the mystery of The Calamity, overcome the confounding chaotic magic that surrounds these “Foundables,” and return them to their rightful place, keeping them safe from Muggle eyes.”

Players will also have the chance to explore locations in the wizarding world thanks to Portkeys that will take you to iconic wizarding world locations like Ollivander’s Wand Shop, which you’ll be able to explore for the first time ever in a full 360-degree advanced augmented reality experience.
