As part of the marketing efforts behind the new “Scream” movie, which hits theaters on Friday, Paramount Pictures has launched a new interactive online game that lets you see how well you would do against the killer in a “Scream” movie.
Could you survive in a #ScreamMovie? Let's see how you'd match up against me at https://t.co/TQw8frY2Jr

The 360° online experience can be played on your computer or via your cell phone at survivescreamhouse.com. In it, you arrive at the Scream House, where you’re supposed to meet Sidney, only to discover that Ghostface has taken over her texts and wants to play a game. You can choose to humor the killer and play the game, meaning you’ll make your way through the rooms in the Scream House, all while answering trivia questions about the “Scream” film franchise. If you opt just to explore the house, text messages will appear on the screen from various characters from the “Scream” franchise talking to you about the return of Ghostface and your hunt for Sidney. Regardless of which option you choose, there is a potential to become Ghostface’s next victim.
There are only a select number of rooms in the house to be explored, so you’ll often revisit rooms while answering the killer’s questions. What’s unclear about the game is whether or not you can actually survive, or if ultimately Ghostface killing you is at random. I played through a couple of times with trivia, and I got a handful of questions wrong the first time but survived for nearly 7 minutes. The second time I didn’t miss any and was killed by Ghostface in under six.
When I opted just to explore the house, I made my way through most of the rooms only to be offed by Ghostface throwing me out a second-floor window in just two minutes. Regardless of how long you survive, the game is a fun interactive way to revisit the “Scream” franchise through trivia in preparation for the upcoming film’s release.
“Scream,” the fifth film in the franchise, hits theaters Friday, January 14, 2022.
