Creep It Real OC, going by the name Creep It Real Nostalgic as a tie-in to this year’s event theme, has announced a special panel on day one of the event dedicated to the television series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”
On Saturday, September 14, special guests from the hit Nickelodeon gateway horror TV series will visit Creep It Real Nostalgic for a special photo op, meet-and-greet, and panel discussion. The meet-and-greet, dark portrait photo, and autographs will all be included in one value package price.
The event will reunite some of the talents from the iconic episode “The Tale of the Midnight Madness,” including series co-creator and episode director D.J. MacHale, Jason Alisharan, who played original Midnight Society member Frank and told “The Tale of the Midnight Madness,” and one of the stars of the tale, Eddie Tyclus Robinson, who played Pete.
In “The Tale of the Midnight Madness,” an old movie theater faces closure. But a glimmer of hope arrives in the form of the mysterious Dr. Vink. He proposes saving the theater with a decades-old black-and-white horror film he directed. The offer seems strange, but the manager takes a chance with the theater on its last legs.
The movie becomes a surprise sensation, drawing in huge crowds. However, Pete, a teenager passionate about saving the theater, becomes suspicious. He decides to delve deeper into the film’s secrets, suspecting something more is at play. As he analyzes the movie, the lines between reality and the film’s world begin to blur, leading to a suspenseful adventure where Pete might discover the true cost of the theater’s newfound success.
All those in attendance will have the opportunity to attend a live panel discussion with the “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” guests, moderated by Jeff DePaoli, host of “The Halloween Podcast.” Called “Were You Afraid of the Dark?”, the panel will reflect on the Nickelodeon series and will be held at 3:00 PM.
This year, Creep It Real OC is taking a nostalgic look at Halloween with the theme Creep It Real Nostalgic, emphasizing the 80s and 90s. At the heart of the event will be a walk-through, “Museum of Nostalgia,” where attendees can check out creepy relics from Halloween’s past.
Creep It Real Nostalgic will take place at the Heritage Museum of Orange County in Santa Ana, CA, on Saturday, September 14, from 1 PM to 7 PM and Sunday, September 15, from 11 AM to 5 PM.
