Creep It Real OC has detailed its plans for 2023. Orange County’s biggest Halloween event returns with a creepy camp theme at the haunted and historic Heritage Museum of Orange County in Santa Ana, CA, this September. And while the event will have its usual shopping, live entertainment, food, and drink, one of this year’s highlights is the event’s 30th-anniversary celebration of the film “Hocus Pocus.”
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to explore a “Hocus Pocus Museum,” a curated exhibit showing off actual props, costumes, and creative treatments (some of which have never been seen before) from both original feature films.
The event will also have some of the stars of the 1993 classic “Hocus Pocus” on hand to meet with fans, including Vinessa Shaw (Allison), Omri Katz (Max), and Jason Marsden (voice of Binx Cat).
This year’s creepy camp theme promises spooky fun under the sun and will pay homage to horrific camp activities and terrorizing outdoor summer sleepovers. This year’s event will feature original characters, the creepy Camp Director, and Cook. The event’s Camp Director will offer some wreck-reation activities while Cook prepares his latest gore-met meal.
Exhibiting this year will be over 120 spooky vendors of crafts, decor, jewelry, special effects makeup,
fashion items, accessories, masks, props, collectibles, original artwork, sweets, treats, and more. Join in
on camp sing-alongs with music by DJ, The Vinyl Ghoul and live performances from Twilight Creeps and
Six Silver Bullets.
“There could not be a better venue for this event,” Megan Valantine, Co-Producer, said of The Heritage Museum of Orange County. “Those coming in costume for photo ops will fit right in at this spooky place.”
Guests are encouraged to bring their pets and dress them up for the fun too! “Our goal is to create and share an environment where local artists, vendors, DIYers, and Halloween enthusiasts will join together as the season ramps up to further ignite the excitement of the spookiest time of the year,” Co-Producer Kevin Valantine says.
Creep It Real OC will take place on Saturday, September 16, from 1 pm – 7 pm and Sunday, September 17, from 11 am – 5 pm.
