Earlier this week images leaked of Ghostface, the infamous persona used by the killer’s in the Scream franchise, as a possible upcoming killer in the game “Dead by Daylight.” The leaks were apparently tied to a developer build of the game that was accidentally pushed to some users and later resolved, but in announcing the fix the game’s publisher Behaviour Interactive, basically confirmed the future character.
“Some lucky players got a glimpse of our upcoming chapter release content in today’s mid-chapter update,” tweeted the official Dead by Daylight account on Tuesday. “enjoy the early hype on the next chapter!”

While “Dead by Daylight” has a number of their own original characters, the addition of Ghostface would increase the game’s growing roster of modern horror icons to six, following the recently released “Ash vs Evil Dead” DLC, and past chapters that included Michael Myers from John Carpenter’s Halloween, Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Pig from Saw, and Leatherface from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The next chapter release from “Dead by Daylight” is due out in June, which is likely when folks will see the full capabilities and components of the Ghostface leak. Past horror chapters have included survivors, as well as killers, for instance, the Halloween chapter included Laurie Strode. With that in mind, there is always a possibility that survivors could soon play as Sidney Prescott, famously played by Neve Campbell in the first Scream film. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what’s released next month.
