Last night The Mystic Museum in Burbank unveiled their latest exhibit, “Occult in History & Pop Culture,” a collaboration with Blackcraft that explores all things occult ranging from devil’s and witchcraft to voodoo and the ancient Egyptians.
The new exhibit features artwork from nearly 40 artists and includes the most photo ops I have ever seen at a Mystic Museum event. Recreate the “light as a feather stiff as a board” scene from The Craft as you levitate with the help of Bonnie, Nancy, and Rochelle, celebrate your 16th birthday with a giant cake with red candles in preparation for your dark baptism like Sabrina from “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” or sit upon the throne of Marie Laveau from “American Horror Story: Coven.”
In each section of the exhibit, the museum gives you insights into some of the history of the occult digging deeper into subjects like Baphomet, a witch’s altar, devils and demons, and more. Each section features artwork and artifacts representing the various themes.
Check out a few highlights from the exhibit below!
In addition to exploring the various pieces of art, many of the original works are available for purchase and some are also available as prints. My only purchase from the event was a print of this silhouette by Jordan Monsell of Sabrina and Salem from “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.”
The exhibit will be on display for the next three months and costs just $10 for entry. The Mystic Museum is located at 3204 W. Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, CA.
