Disney and Pixar’s ‘Coco’ Coming to ‘Mickey’s PhilharMagic’

Still from the new "Coco" scene in Mickey's PhilharMagic

On Thursday, the Disney Parks Blog announced that “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” will be getting a new animated scene based on Disney and Pixar’s “Coco.”

The new scene in the 3D animated adventure starring Donald Duck will be anchored by the musical number “Un Poco Loco” and will include an all-new original score from “Coco” film composer Germaine Franco. The updated “Mickey’s PhilharMagic” will premiere at Disney California Adventure park and Disneyland Paris on July 17, 2021, before being added to Magic Kingdom Park later this year during the Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration.

The all-new “Coco” scene will be added alongside the show’s current fan-favorite musical numbers. It will mark the first time Disney and Pixar animators have brought together characters from both animation studios on screen.

Disney and Pixar’s “Coco” was released in 2017 and tells the story of a young musician named Miguel who, following a mysterious chain of events on Día de Muertos, finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead where he uncovers the true story of his family history.
