Disney Games has announced it will release a remastered version of its classic “Gargoyles” video game, originally released on the SEGA Genesis in 1995. Inspired by the Disney animated series of the same name, “Gargoyles” is a platformer where players play as the show’s protagonist, Goliath, as he seeks to put an end to the Eye of Odin.
“Gargoyles Remastered” is a tribute to the classic video game and animated series, with enhanced visuals and modern features like instant rewind and difficulty modes. The game also features a remastered soundtrack and the ability to change over to the classic 16-bit mode, which makes the game look like it did when it was released back in the ’90s.
“Gargoyles Remasters” will be released digitally worldwide on October 19, 2023, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and GOG. However, Disney Games has collaborated with Limited Run Games to bring ultimate “Gargoyles” fans premium physical editions of “Gargoyles Remastered,” including two collector’s editions and a retro re-release of the original Gargoyles SEGA Genesis game!
The “Gargoyles Remastered” collector’s edition is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles and includes:
- Physical copy of “Gargoyles Remastered”
- “Gargoyles Remastered” Hinge-style box that plays voice line from Keith David, the voice of Goliath
- “Gargoyles Remastered” White Retro Plastic VHS Clamshell Case
- “Gargoyles Remastered” VHS Tape Box

A Collector’s Edition of the SEGA Genesis re-release is also available. It includes a physical copy of “Gargoyles” for the SEGA Genesis on a stone textured cartridge with a rainbow foil cover sheet and game manual.
