During the Final Day of Geeked Week, Netflix Announces Cast for Live-Action ‘Resident Evil’ Series

Back in 2019, we learned that Netflix was developing a live-action television series based on the “Resident Evil” video game franchise. On Friday, during the final day of its weeklong virtual event dedicated to all things genre on the streaming service, Netflix announced that season one of the series is finally in production.

As part of the production announcement, the streaming service also unveiled the cast of the new series, leading with the reveal of the actor who will play the notorious Umbrella virologist Albert Wesker. Wesker will be played by actor Lance Reddick (“John Wick”) with Adeline Rudolph (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”), Siena Agudong (“No Good Nick”), Paola Nuñez (“Bad Boys for Life”), Tamara Smart (“A Babysitters Guide to Monster Hunting”), and Ella Balinska (“Charlie’s Angles”) rounding out the cast.

Further details on the series and what roles the rest of the cast will play were not announced, but with production finally started on the series, more details will be announced in the coming months.
