To kick off the new year and the 30th anniversary of Gargoyles, Dynamite Entertainment has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its Disney “Gargoyles” titles, offering fans the chance to complete their collections with brand new graphic novels collecting long out of print “Gargoyles” comic books.
This all-new collection is being released as three tomes of classic “Gargoyles” tales. The first volume is a compilation of the first-ever “Gargoyles” comic series from 1995. This 11-issue title was originally released by Marvel Comics and is set loosely between the first two seasons of the original animated television series. This volume marks the first time the series has been reprinted in its entirety.
The second and third volumes in the collection collect the second series of “Gargoyles” comics, released by SLG Publishing in association with CreatureComics from 2006 to 2009. The main series, often referred to as “Clan Building,” was joined by a companion title, “Bad Guys.” These newly compiled volumes will include Issues #9-12 of “Gargoyles” and #5-6 of “Bad Guys,” which were never released as comics and instead were printed as a small run of paperback collections.
The three-volume set is being offered in various forms to satisfy collectors and fans of all types. You can back the books as individual volumes or as a collection. Each is available as either hardcover or paperback.
For the hardcore “Gargoyles” collector, Dynamite is offering a 30th Anniversary Premiere Edition, which is limited to an edition size of 1,000 copies. Packaged in a treasure chest slipcase, this special hardcover collection is bound in leather with gilded gold paper and foil stamping denoting the limited edition and anniversary. Inside the hardcover is a sewn-in ribbon bookmark and a special tip-in plate signed by writer Greg Wiesman.
The Kickstarter campaign is live for a limited time, with the books expected to arrive in July 2024.
