Its October 1st and we still haven’t heard anything official on AMC’s FearFest for 2018. So far, the only confirmed element of the popular programming event is “Eli Roth’s History of Horror,” which debuts on October 14. But since its October 1, we can see the first two weeks of programming for the month and by the looks of it the premiere date of “Eli Roth’s History of Horror” might be the start of the FearFest event.
If you look at the October schedule the first week of the month is all things The Walking Dead. A marathon of the series kicks off tomorrow at 9 am starting with Season 1, Episode 1 and continues straight through the end of season 8 leading up to the premiere of season nine this Sunday at 9 pm. After The Walking Dead marathon things on AMC return to a bit of normalcy for a week, but on Sunday, October 14 AMC starts showcasing a number of horror films in its lineup including a marathon of Halloween films, and while not aired in order AMC will feature Halloween, Halloween II, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later. The marathon will be followed by the usual Sunday night airings of The Walking Dead and Talking Dead, followed by the premiere of “Eli Roth’s History of Horror” at 12:12 am.
On Monday, October 15 it appears that the FearFest fun continues at 9 am with a lineup of horror films played throughout the day (All times in PST):
- 9 am – Return to House on Haunted Hill
- 10:30 am – Poltergeist
- 1:00 pm – The Hills Have Eyes
- 3:35 pm – The Crazies
- 6:00 pm – Trick ‘r Treat
- 8:00 pm – The Exorcist
- 10:50 pm – Exorcist II: The Heretic
While this hasn’t been officially announced as part of the FearFest lineup, its a damn good selection of titles to binge in mid-October regardless of whether they’re part of FearFest or not.
