On Monday, Scream Factory announced that Fede Alvarez’s 2013 entry in the “Evil Dead” franchise will get a limited edition 4K SteelBook on August 20, 2024. The new release will include both the theatrical and unrated cuts of the film.
The 2013 “Evil Dead” is a remake/reimagining of the classic 1981 film. It follows a group of five friends at a remote cabin who awaken ancient demons from a mysterious book. The film is known for its intense gore and horror, with a more serious tone than the original’s campiness. It stars Jane Levy as Mia, a woman battling drug addiction, and features a new take on the possession and fight for survival against the demonic forces.
