‘Frankie Freako’—Latest Feature from ‘Psycho Goreman’ Director Coming to Theaters This October

If you follow me on social media or listen to the By Pumpkin’s Light Podcast, you’ve probably picked up on the fact that I am a huge fan of the 2020 sci-fi horror comedy film “PG: Psycho Goreman.” That is why I’m incredibly excited to hear that Shout! Studios is bringing the next feature from its Director, Steven Kostanski, to theaters this October.

Mischief, puppets, and absurdist humor come together in “Frankie Freako,” a new monster-driven horror comedy. Loaded with ’80s nostalgia, this delightfully chaotic misfit adventure opens exclusively in select theaters on October 4, 2024. “Frankie Freako” had its world premiere at the 2024 Fantasia International Film Festival, where the sold-out screening enjoyed a positive reception from both critics and fans.

The film follows uptight yuppie Conor Sweeney, who, after calling a late-night party hotline that promises out-of-this-world fun, must battle the pint-sized forces of evil unleashed through his phone line, led by the maniacal rock n’ roll goblin “Frankie Freako.”
