Freeform has announced its 2023 31 Nights of Halloween lineup. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the annual Halloween programming event, and the fun kicks off on October 1 with the odd choice of “Mrs. Doubtfire.”
While last year’s lineup injected more horror into the mix with titles like “Get Out,” “A Quiet Place,” and “Happy Death Day.” This year’s lineup seems to have shifted back to a predominantly family-friendly lineup the event had become known for, with the exception of the 2019 horror film “Ready Or Not,” which will air one time during the event.
New for 2023 is the premiere of “Encanto” along with Disney’s “ZOMBIES” AND “ZOMBIES 2.” The year’s lineup also includes all of the films in the young adult vampire film franchise, “The Twilight Saga,” and the classic Disney Channel Original movies “Twitches” and “Twitches Too,” starring Tia and Tamera Mowry.
Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween runs from October 1 through 31 with a collection of Halloween films ranging from timeless classics to contemporary favorites. Check out the night-by-night list of this year’s programming lineup below. One interesting item of note is that on Friday, October 13, they have left two spots open on the schedule as TBD. They’ve also labeled the October 29 airing of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as 30th Anniversary, but do not provide any further details on how that might differ from the other airings of the film.
