Ghostface Promises ‘Something Different’ in Official Trailer for ‘Scream VI’

The official trailer for “Scream VI” arrived on Thursday, and in it, Ghostface declares, “I’m something…different” as he violently smashes his way through Gale Weathers’ apartment.

“Different” seems to be the theme for the upcoming “Scream” installment. The film will take place in a different location, it will be the first film in the franchise sans Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, and the weathered Ghostface mask worn by the killer is definitely a different look from what we’ve seen in the last five films.

The new trailer offers a glimpse of what we can expect from the upcoming film, which follows the four survivors from 2022’s “Scream” as they look for a fresh start in New York, only to find the horrors of Woodsboro have followed them. The new trailer showcases a more public Ghostface who executes a patron and store owner while chasing down Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega’s characters, Sam and Tara Carpenter. It also gives us our first look at the return of Hayden Panettiere as Kirby Reed and a glimpse into what appears to be a shrine to Ghostface and the Woodsboro murders that may or may not be tied to the latest killer.

Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Courteney Cox will also return in their franchise roles for “Scream VI” alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving.

“Scream VI” will arrive in theaters on March 10, 2023.
