Google Shares 2021’s Top Costumes and Halloween Drinks

There’s a frighteningly high chance you will see a Witch costume on Halloween this year. At least that’s what Google says when you click the top result in its 2021 Frightgeist Top Costumes list. According to Google’s data, a witch is the most searched, and therefore top costume, for the second year in a row.

Since 2015 Google has been sharing the top Halloween costumes in the U.S. nationally and by state via its “Frightgeist” website. Pulling from the top 500 costume searches in the United States, Frightgeist used Google Trends to tell people what costumes are trending around trending across the U.S. The top 10 costumes in the U.S. in 2021, according to Google, are as follows:

  1. Witch
  2. Rabbit
  3. Dinosaur
  4. Spider-Man
  5. Cruella De Vil
  6. Fairy
  7. Harley Quinn
  8. Cowboy
  9. Clown
  10. Chucky

This year’s list features five returning favorites from 2020, including Rabbit (up two positions), Dinosaur (down one position), Spider-Man (up six positions), Harley Quinn (down four positions), and a clown (down four positions). Trending couples costumes:

  2. Bonnie and Clyde
  3. Skid and Pump
  4. Mr. and Mrs. Smith
  5. Cosmo and Wanda

Trending dog costumes:

  1. Squid Game
  2. Race car
  3. Vampire
  4. Donkey
  5. Lobster
