It was announced in October that XYZ Films had picked up director Steven LaMorte’s horror parody, “The Mean One,” an unofficial slasher take on the Grinch. This week a trailer for the film arrived ahead of its December 9 theatrical debut.
The film tells the story of Cindy, who, as a young girl, witnessed her mother’s murder on Christmas Eve by the Mean One, a bloodthirsty green grouch in a red Santa suit (Played by David Howard Thornton, Art the Clown in the “Terrifier” films). 20 years after the murder, Cindy returns to Newville, where the monster launches another bloody reign of terror that threatens to destroy Christmas. Now Cindy’s got a bold new purpose: trapping and killing The Mean One.
