Halloween Release Confirmed for First-Person Horror Game ‘Insomnis’ on Nintendo Switch

Last month it was announced that first-person horror game “Insomnis” was getting a digital release on the Nintendo Switch sometime later this year. Meridiem Games has confirmed that “later this year” is actually on Halloween. The spine-chilling first-person horror game will launch on October 31 digitally on Nintendo Switch and is available to add to your wishlist now via the Nintendo eShop.

Developed and published by Path Games, this edition of “Insomnis” has been enhanced with specific Nintendo Switch gameplay features, including a redesigned interaction system for play with the joycon and HD vibration to enhance some of the terrifying moments gamers can expect when exploring the old Castavet mansion. In addition, players can use the touch screen to interact with objects or solve puzzles. The game will run at 720p in handheld portable mode and 1080p in Dock mode.

In “Insomnis,” you play as Joe Castevet, who just inherited an old mansion on the outskirts of the countryside. What Joe doesn’t realize is that this family legacy is cursed. Discover the dark secrets buried deep in the Castevet abode as you fight against your own destiny in a story field with intrigue and terror. Explore your grandfather’s mansion where nothing is as it seems. Rooms will change, bringing your worst nightmares to life as you immerse yourself in a morally ambiguous narrative. Solve original, complex puzzles in your search for answers but make your decisions cautiously. The game features multiple endings, and the choices you make can impact the fate of the game’s characters.
