It’s July 5, and for many, myself included, it marks the start of Halloween hunting season. While I might not officially be out and about on the hunt until this weekend, you can bet your ass I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for anything Halloween if I’m out and about during the week running errands. And while many of us are just starting, numerous folks on Instagram have been spotting Halloween in the wild for the last month. Here are the places most folks across the U.S. have been finding Halloween according to the #codeorange and #halloweenhunting hashtags.
At Home Stores
As in years past, At Homes Stores seem to be one of the first U.S. retailers to stock Halloween. Over the last month, I’ve seen posts from across the U.S. showing off the spread of Halloween decor currently available at At Home. You can see some of the highlights in the post below:
JOANN Fabric and Crafts
Another retailer that is relatively consistent with early Halloween stock is JOANN Fabric; however, it does tend to be isolated to the fabric with home decor and other crafts arriving later in the season. Several folks have already posted old and new Halloween fabrics from locations across the country. I even recently went to my local JOANN store and came across some of the following materials, which appear to be new designs.
HomeGoods
In my experience, HomeGoods typically doesn’t start stocking Halloween until late July or early August, but they seem to be getting an early start this year. I’ve seen posts from across the U.S. in locations like New York, Texas, Illinois, and Connecticut, where people find a decent amount of Halloween stocked at their local HomeGoods.
While far fewer, I have also seen a handful of folks share finds from HomeGoods sister store TJ Maxx.
Dollar Tree
Another historically late-season stocker, Dollar Tree, has shown up a number of times in recent weeks with various Halloween knick-knacks popping up on store shelves. While this doesn’t seem to be a full Halloween spread, it’s enough that if you want to grab a few things early in the season, it probably won’t hurt to get down to your local Dollar Tree. You can see some of what’s been popping up in this video shared by The Ghoul Mates, highlighting some of the items they found at their local store in Denver, CO.
Nordstrom Rack
One of the more bizarre locations I’ve seen pop up in recent weeks is Nordstrom Rack. A store that usually isn’t on my Halloween hunting radar seems to have gotten an early shipment this year. The few locations I’ve seen mentioned are located in California and Florida.
Michaels
Michaels is a regular hot spot for Halloween, with things looking pretty well stocked by mid-July. However, this year, it seems that they are getting a slightly earlier start, with some folks sharing that the craft store is already putting pieces from this year’s Lemax Spooky Town collection on store shelves.
