It’s a new month, and with it comes a new lineup of horror programming on VIZIO WatchFree+. It may be April, but they’re not fooling around with this month’s lineup, which includes titles like “Texas Chainsaw,” “Evil Dead 2,” and “Hostel.” Check out the full lineup below:
The Grudge 2

“The Grudge 2” expands the terrifying curse of Kayako and Toshio Saeki, spreading its influence beyond the original haunted house in Tokyo to showcase three interwoven stories that show how the curse spreads. The 2006 sequel stars Amber Tamblyn (“The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”), Edison Chen (“Infernal Affairs”), and Arielle Kebbel (“The Uninvited”).
Ju-On 2
Before there was “The Grudge,” there was “Ju-On,” the J-horror franchise that inspired it. Alongside “The Grudge 2,” you can check out the sequel to “Ju-On.” Like the American sequel, “Ju-On 2” continues the terrifying saga of the Saeki curse, expanding its reach and delving deeper into its origins as the ghosts of the curse find their chance to live once again through the pregnancy of a cursed woman. The film stars Noriko Sakai (“Fight”), Chiharu Niiyama (“Ultraman Taiga”), and Yui Ichikawa (“Tokyo Boy”).
Amityville: The Awakening
“Amityville: The Awakening” is a 2017 supernatural horror film that puts a modern spin on the infamous Amityville haunting. In it, a single mother moves with her three children into the notorious, supposedly haunted, real-life Amityville house to try and use its dark powers to cure her comatose son. Of course, tampering with dark forces comes with consequences, and things start to go horribly wrong. The film stars Jennifer Jason Leigh (“Single White Female”), Bella Thorne (“Girl”), and Mckenna Grace (“The Handmaid’s Tale”).
Texas Chainsaw
2013’s “Texas Chainsaw,” originally released as “Texas Chainsaw 3D,” is the seventh installment in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” franchise and serves as a direct sequel to the original 1974 film. Set decades later, it tells of a young woman who travels to Texas to collect an inheritance from a grandmother she never knew. Little does she know that an encounter with a chainsaw-wielding killer is part of the reward. The film stars Alexandra Daddario (“Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches“), Tania Raymonde (“Goliath”), and Scott Eastwood (“Suicide Squad”).
Evil Dead 2
Part remake, part sequel, “Evil Dead 2” blends the original “The Evil Dead” elements with a more comedic and over-the-top approach. Bruce Campbell reprises his role as Ash Williams, the lone survivor from the first film, as he holes up in a cabin with a group of strangers while the demons continue attacking.
The Road
Viggo Mortensen (“The Lord of the Rings” franchise) stars in this post-apocalyptic thriller about an ailing father and his son as they struggle against starvation, the harsh environment, and dangerous, desperate people on their way to the sea, in search of a safe haven.
Daybreakers
In the year 2019, a plague has transformed almost every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind. The film stars Ethan Hawke (“Training Day”), Willem Dafoe (“The Lighthouse”), and Sam Neill (“Jurassic Park”).
Hostel
Written and directed by Eli Roth, “Hostel” tells the story of three American backpackers traveling through Europe who are lured to a seemingly idyllic hostel in Slovakia. But when they arrive, they soon discover that the hostel is a front for a sadistic organization where wealthy clients pay to torture and kill unsuspecting victims. The film stars Jay Hernandez (“Suicide Squad”), Derek Richardson (“Anger Management”), and Barbara Nedeljakova (“Shanghai Knights”).
The Tag-Along 2
Based on the Taiwanese urban legend of “The Little Girl in Red,” this sequel to the 2015 Taiwanese horror “The Tag-Along” unravels the mystery of the girl in red through the stories of three different women. When social worker Li Shu Fen discovers that her pregnant teenage daughter Ya Ting has disappeared, she goes on a desperate search that leads her to two mysterious women. The first is a mother who locks her daughter in a room covered with spells, and the second is a pregnant woman, believed to be missing, found in an abandoned hospital. For the sake of their children, these three mothers enter the red forest and face their deepest fears. The film stars Rainie Yang (“Spider Lillies”), Wei-Ning Hsu (“White Lies, Black Lies”), and Francesca Kao (“Get the Hell Out”).
Incarnation
Based on the ancient demon Mammon, “Incarnation” is a twisted tale of greed about a young couple chasing the American dream. The film stars Taye Diggs (“Chicago”), Jessica Uberuaga (“The Fanatic”), and Michael Madsen (“Reservoir Dogs”).
The Dark Tapes
“The Dark Tapes” is a found-footage horror anthology woven together by a central narrative that involves a group of paranormal investigators, whose findings are compiled onto “dark tapes.” The four interlocking segments explore different horror subgenres, including demonic possession, psychological terror, and encounters with strange entities. The film stars David Banks (“Station 19”), Sara Areyano (“The Shift”), and Cortney Palm (“Zombeavers”).
Island Escape
A team of mercenaries embarks on a rescue mission to an island off the coast of Nova Scotia. Trapped, they begin to question their concept of time and space as they learn of supernatural creatures living in the shadows. The film stars William Champion (“Barbarians”), Chris Cimperman (“First Contact”), and Jeremy Cohen (“The Hangman”).
Hellhole
“Hellhole” is a 1985 horror exploitation film that follows a young woman who suffers from amnesia after an attack by a hired killer. She’s admitted to a mental asylum run by a ruthless doctor who experiments on her patients with a lethal drug, and her attacker just got employed there. The film stars Ray Sharkey (“The Idolmaker”), Judy Landers (“Knight Rider”), and Marjoe Gortner (“Earthquake”).
