BeyondFest and American Cinematheque have teamed up for a special marathon celebration of actor Robert Englund, the man who made Freddy Krueger in the original “A Nightmare On Elm Street” films the horror icon he is today.
The event will be comprised of four features personally selected by Englund, which include “Freddy vs. Jason,” “The Last Showing,” “Stay Hungry,” and “A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Those who purchase marathon tickets will be given free admission to the world premiere “Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story,” which will be followed by a career-spanning Q&A with the actor himself.
“Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story” is directed by Christoper Griffiths and Gary Smart and is an intimate portrait of the man who made the “A Nightmare On Elm Street” franchise what it is today and features interviews with Englund, actress Lin Shaye, director Eli Roth, actor Tony Todd, and more.
The five-film marathon will be held on Saturday, May 13, starting at 11 am at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, CA. Tickets to the marathon are just $35 ($30 for members) and are available for purchase now at americancinematheque.com.
