Horror Romantic Comedy ‘The Zombie Wedding’ Coming to Select Theaters and VOD This September

Freestyle Digital Media and Weekly World News have announced the day and date release of the horror romantic comedy, “The Zombie Wedding.” The film will debut on Cable and Digital VOD, including Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, Fandango At Home, Comcast, Dish, and DirecTV, on September 13, 2024, and arrive theatrically in select markets.

Written by Greg D’Alessandro and directed by Micah Khan, “The Zombie Wedding” is based on the eponymous interactive play and tells the story of a New Jersey couple who decide to go through with their wedding during the zombie apocalypse. Unfortunately, the groom is a zombie, and the bride is a human. Both families are nervous about the big day, but the judgmental humans make the event even more challenging. During the ceremony, the Zombies begin feeling brain-deprived, and the wedding takes a turn for the weird.

The film is the first title to launch the Weekly World News IP-driven studio slate of movie projects. It features a large ensemble cast that includes SNL alumn Cheri Oteri, Seth Gilliam (“The Walking Dead”), Heather Matarazzo (“Scream” franchise), Kevin Chamberlin (“Jessie”), Siobhan Fallon Hogan (“Men in Black”), Vincent Pastore (“The Sopranos”), Ajay Naidu (“Office Space”), and Micky Dolenz of The Monkees, to name a few.

The film is produced by Greg D’Alessandro, Joe Corcoran, Sue Wolf, Maria Capp and Jeff Mazzola. Executive Producers include Robert Dragotta, John Harris, John Fahy, J. Todd Harris, Jijo Reed, and Grace Lovret.
