Moonless Formless and Perp Games have announced that the 2.5D RPG horror game, “Withering Rooms,” will be arriving digitally on consoles and leaving Early Access on Steam for PC on April 2, 2024, with a physical release of the game for the PlayStation 5, arriving on May 10.
“Withering Rooms” is a challenging 2.5D RPG that draws inspiration from roguelikes, Soulslikes, and classic survival horror games. The game is set in a procedurally generated Victorian mansion called Mostyn House. The once beautiful Victorian home now changes itself each night and is filled with overgrown undead, invisible ghosts, devious witches, and axe-wielding madmen.
Players take on the role of a young woman named Nightingale and explore Mostyn House and its surrounding locations. Along the way, they’ll be able to craft various weapons, tools, spells, outfits, and magical artifacts that will aid them as they take on the house’s cast of monsters and bosses. They’ll also encounter strange friends, merchants, and liars, each with their own agenda. Can Nightingale find a way to escape Mostyn House, or will she become powerful enough to control it?Â
