Jason Blum Announces Blumhouse Compendium ‘Horror’s New Wave: 15 Years of Blumhouse’

Blumhouse founder Jason Blum took to social media on Monday to announce a new book celebrating the production company’s 15th anniversary. “Horror’s New Wave: 15 Years of Blumhouse” is an illustrated visual compendium featuring never-before-seen images, storyboards, exclusive interviews, and more from the various films that helped make Blumhouse the genre powerhouse it is today.

Slated to arrive on September 30, 2025, this commemorative book delves into the behind-the-scenes processes that shaped Blumhouse’s iconic films. Featuring an introduction from CEO and founder Jason Blum, it also includes interviews with key filmmakers and writers like Jordan Peele (“Get Out”), M. Night Shyamalan (“Glass”), Leigh Whannell (“The Invisible Man”), James Wan (“Insidious”), and Mike Flanagan (“Hush”); actors, such as Allison Williams (“M3GAN”), Ethan Hawke (“The Black Phone”), Jamie Lee Curtis (“Halloween” franchise), and Octavia Spencer (“Ma”); and Blumhouse executives like head of film Couper Samuelson and head of casting Terri Taylor. These interviews explore how each project came together, offering stories and insights into the creative process, such as directing, musical score, makeup, acting, cinematography, and more.

Over the last 15 years, Blumhouse has produced over 200 movies and television series and is home to the highest number of ongoing franchises of any studio, including “Halloween,” “The Pruge,” “The Black Phone,” “Paranormal Activity,” “The Exorcist,” “Insidious,” “M3GAN,” and “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” long with iconic films from cinematic visionaries including Jordan Peele’s “Get Out,” Damien Chazelle’s “Whiplash,” and Spike Lee’s “BlacKkKlansman.” In January 2024, Blumhouse merged with James Wan’s Atomic Monster, which has produced its own successful film franchises, including “The Conjuring,” “Annabelle,” “The Nun,” and “Saw.”
