A Kickstarter campaign has launched this week to allow fans of the clickbait horror satire “What Happens Next Will Scare You” to pre-order both Digital and physical editions of the film.
The film premiered last October as part of the virtual Nightmares Film Festival: Masquerade, where it won “Best Horror Comedy” and was nominated for “Best Writing.” Created by Chris LaMartina and Jimmy George, the duo behind “WNUF Halloween Special” and “Call Girl of Cthulhu,” the film features a wraparound story and eight spooky anthology segments.
In the film, a motley crew of clickbait writers is watching the top 13 scariest viral videos in preparation for a Halloween listicle, but when an early entry curses whoever watches the cryptic link, the group of snarky hipsters must distinguish fact from fiction before a tidal wave of terrifying supernatural activity leads to real-life murders.
Set to be released in September 2021, a pledge of $15 will score you a digital download of the film when it’s released. A pledge of $25 will get you a DVD copy of the film with bonus features that include audio commentary and unreleased anthology segments, plus a digital download. A pledge of $50 will get you all of the aforementioned rewards along with a special thanks in the film’s end credits and on IMDb.
