Knott’s Scary Farm Officially Cancelled Due To COVID-19

Today’s Knott’s Berry Farm released an update on their park operations due to COVID-19 and while some elements of the park will be re-opening in the coming months, they, unfortunately, announced the cancellation of their annual Halloween event, Knott’s Scary Farm.

Regrettably, due to continued operating restrictions related to the pandemic, we have had to make the very difficult decision to cancel our highly anticipated 2020 Knott’s Scary Farm event. The unique features of Scary Farm will not allow us to operate within the constraints recommended by the CDC and public health experts. We know that this news is disappointing, but we look forward with great enthusiasm to making 2021 Knott’s Scary Farm our best year ever.

Knott’s Scary Farm was one of three larger So Cal Halloween events that had not yet announced their fate due to COVID-19. The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor announced their cancellation in June and late last month both the Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood announced the cancellation of their Halloween events. There is still no word on the fate of Six Flags Fright Fest, and the L.A. Haunted Hayride has said it will hold out as long as it can before making a decision. With this latest announcement, it appears that home haunters are going to be the only ones keeping this year’s haunt season alive.
