On Tuesday, Netflix released the official trailer for its upcoming dark comedy series “The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.”
Taking inspiration from thrillers, much like Netflix’s own “The Woman in the Window,” the new series follows heartbroken Anna, played by Kristen Bell, whose life seems to be stuck in a loop of drinking wine and staring out her window watching life go by. But when a handsome neighbor (Tom Riley) and his daughter move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she?
Lack of evidence and Anna’s drinking habits bring her sanity into question. With nobody believing her, she takes matters into her own hands and sets out to solve the mystery of the murder she knows she witnessed.
While this new miniseries is a spoof on the genre and pokes fun at many of the genre’s tropes, the trailer suggests it will still include plenty of darker elements for fans of the genre to appreciate.
“The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window” will premiere on Netflix on January 28, 2022.
