According to Deadline, the sci-fi channel DUST will be airing the 1996 student film from Star Wars: The Last Jedi writer-director Rian Johnson, titled Evil Demon Golf Ball From Hell!!! The short will be shown on Dust on Dec. 7 as part of a student film showcase made available through a partnership between DUST and the USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Evil Demon Golf Ball From Hell!!! is a comedy/thriller loosely based on Edgard Allen Poe’s classic tale “The Tell-Tale Heart.” The black and white short follows a man who is haunted by an unusual fiend after committing an evil deed. Johnson’s short has become the go-to film at USC School of Cinematic Arts for teaching students how to make an incredible short film on a shoestring budget.
DUST is the first multi-platform destination for binge watchable sci-fi and features science fiction short films and other content from emerging filmmakers. DUST is available on Roku and Twitch.
