Battle Royale video game “Fortnite” has teased the return of its annual “Fortnitemares” in-game Halloween event with a new cinematic short that showcases Leatherface from “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and Billy the Puppet from the “SAW” franchise as new skins.
The short reveal comes after weeks of leaked imagery and test server footage showing the horror icons as part of the game. Leaks suggest that other Billy the Puppet-themed cosmetics will be available, including a Trap Television back bling, Spiralized Slicer pickax, and a Billy’s Tricycle emote, which lets the character ride the iconic red tricycle with a note on the front that says “Game Over.”
The short also showcases Marvel’s Mephisto and an adorable anime-style witch skin as part of the upcoming event, which kicks off on October 11, 2024. Check out the new short below:
“Fortnitemares” is an annual seasonal event in “Fortnite” held each October. It contains unique challenges and cosmetics to help players get into the spooky spirit of Halloween. The event also features a new point of interest or weaponry as a tie-in.
