In 2022, I was fortunate enough to experience LVCRFT’s fourth album, “Scream Warriors,” in its entirety in Dolby Atmos, in complete darkness for the album release party. It was a surreal experience I’ll never forget and ranks near the top of my list of most incredible musical experiences of my lifetime. I am so excited to hear that the next iteration of that experience is coming to this year’s Midsummer Scream.
On July 27 and 28, LVCRFT and Christopher Young will debut their ground-breaking immersive audio experience, “Scream Warriors,” exclusively at Midsummer Scream in Long Beach, California. Convention-goers brave enough will be treated to an approximately 10-minute-long first-of-its-kind immersive audio experience set in complete darkness within the kill room walls of a psychopathic madman. Those lucky enough might even escape!
In partnership with Dolby Labs, with visuals by Strangeloop Studios powered by the 4Cast MVP Multimedia Visual Performer, a device for running time-synched visuals and lights for live performances. Attendees will be immersed inside an 18-speaker 9.1.6 Dolby Atmos array, transporting them into a new, terrifying world.
“Scream Warriors” dropped on September 30, 2022, and was unlike anything the award-winning spooky hitmakers LVCRFT had done to date. Teaming up with legendary film composer Christopher Young (“Hellraiser,” “A Nightmare On Elm Street II,” “Sinister”), they set out to create ‘the most terrifying album ever made’. Together, they succeeded in creating “Scream Warriors,” a musical masterpiece many have called “the soundtrack to a horror movie that hasn’t been made yet.”
With this spine-tingling, goosebumps-inducing album in hand, LVCRFT and Young partnered with Dolby Labs to bring the scariness to life in an unprecedented way, plunging listeners into an Atmos-powered immersive audio world like never before.
