LVCRFT, the Halloween hitmaker collective known for modern Halloween staples like “Skeleton Sam,” “Spooky Scary Skeletons,” and “Straight to Hell” from Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” unleashed their fifth album on Friday. Fittingly titled “V,” the new album features 12 all-new Halloween-inspired tracks.
LVCRFT has been teasing the album over the last week, releasing video clips on social media that tie into the theme of the album, which explores the haunting origins of LVCRFT crowd-favorite character Skeleton Sam, who’s become the face of the group in recent years. Thus far, we’ve learned that Sam’s full name is Samuel St. Skelevoie, and he’s on a desperate quest to rescue his lost love, Seraphina, who mysteriously disappeared during a live musical performance. Sam has enlisted the help of LVCRFT to finish a song started by Seraphina in hopes of appeasing the devil and reuniting Sam with his lost love. The “found footage” short film will continue to be unveiled peeling back new layers of the LVCRFT universe through Halloween.
For the latest album, LVCRFT has enlisted the help of some other spooky music makers. The late, great Monte Revolta lends his voice to the track “Purgatory,” and The Remains (of DBone and The Remains) takes part in a bangin’ spookycore duet on the track “Scream! (For Halloween),” which served as the theme song for this year’s Midsummer Scream.
