ShoutFactoryTV has announced its new arrivals for May and among the new films available to stream is the 2012 documentary “Vampira and Me.”
The 2012 documentary from director R.H. Greene explores the fascinating career of actress Maila Nurmi who is now more famously known by her TV moniker Vampira. The film explores Nurmi’s career from its humble beginnings as a magazine model to the actress’s unfortunate demise into obscurity. Using what little available footage of the actress and character is available, alongside archival footage from various periods in her life, the film provides an in-depth, heartfelt look at the life of this pop culture icon. It even includes interviews with the actress conducted in 1997 for the film.
