Mars Candy Brands Release ‘Bite Size’ Horror Films For Halloween

Fox and Mars candy brands have teamed up to create “Bite Size” horror films with up-and-coming horror directors.  The two-minute shorts, which have started airing on various Fox networks over the last week are each presented by a different Mars candy brands, including Skittles, M&M’s, Starburst, and Snickers.  For a Halloween candy commercial, these are really well made and actually have some fairly intense moments.  So far four

Skittles Presents “Floor 9.5”

Directed by Toby Meakins and written by Simon Allen, “Floor 9.5” finds an office worker leaving after hours only to find herself stuck in an elevator between the 9th and 10th floors. What happens next? You’ll have to watch to find out!

M&M’s Presents “The Road”

Directed by Jack Bishop and Justin Nijm, “The Road” plays off of all the urban legends you’ve heard about where you drive down a dark road, park and turn out your lights and some ghostly being appears.

Starburst Presents “Replacement”

Directed by Christopher Leone, “Replacement” tells the story of a boy who comes face-to-face with and then is replaced by a masked doppelgänger.

Snickers Presents “Live Bait”

Written and directed by Andrew Laurich with the help of Gabriel Miller, “Live Bait” is the prime example of the hunter becoming the hunted, or maybe, in this case, it’s the fisher becomes the fished? Regardless, this short had one moment that actually made me yell out “Oh damn!” because I wasn’t expecting something like it in a short film advertising candy.

According to AdWeek there were a total of 12 short films created for this “Bite Size Horror” series, but so far these are all they shared and I was only able to find three of the four elsewhere online.
