Max has announced that the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s 1975 bestselling novel “Salem’s Lot” will debut this October on Max. From New Line Cinema, the Max Original film reunites the producing teams behind the record-breaking horror franchises “The Conjuring” and “It.”
The latest take on “Salem’s Lot” is written, directed, and executive produced by Gary Dauberman and stars Lewis Pullman as author Ben Mears. In search of inspiration for his next book, Mears returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot, only to discover that a bloodthirsty vampire is preying upon his hometown.
Alfre Woodard, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Spencer Treat Clark, Pilou Asbรฆk, and John Benjamin Hickey round out the film’s cast.
“Salem’s Lot” was previously adapted for the screen in 1979 for CBS and again in 2004 for TNT, both as television miniseries. The 1979 release has been a cult favorite among fans of Stephen King and vampire fans alike, which helped land it a theatrical sequel with “A Return to Salem’s Lot” in 1987.
“Salem’s Lot” is executive produced by James Wan, Michael Clear, and Judson Scott for Atomic Monster, Roy Lee and Andrew Childs for Vertigo, alongside Mark Wolper and Michael Bederman.
