Following the news of Eli Roth’s new “Haunted House: Trick-VR-Treat” coming to the Meta Quest Platform on October 21, Meta has unveiled a full slate of new and always-on Halloween-themed experiences, TV shows, and movies.
From October 19-31, Meta Quest 2 is highlighting new Halloween content and experiences in virtual reality, including four new 360˚ episodes of “Scream Park” featuring “Stranger Things 4” star Grace Van Dien. All of the content will be available to view across Meta Quest TV and Meta Horizon Worlds.
“Scream Park,” is an immersive thrill-ride horror show from BlackBoxTV where deep within the ruins of an abandoned theme park, Kelly Q, is trapped and needs your help. The four episodes include:
- Episode 1: Scary 360° VR Roller Coaster
- Episode 2: Time Warp
- Episode 3: Toby’s Funhouse
- Episode 4: The Lost Boyz
Fans of the series can also go on a terrifying adventure with Scream Park’s Toby Terrific in Meta Horizon Worlds now through October 21.
Other experiences perfect for the season include:
- NOPE World – A VR experience inspired by Jordan Peele’s “Nope,” where you can explore Haywood Ranch, discover hidden easter eggs from the film and partake in several mini-games and other interactive elements.
- Tokyo Case – Perfect for J-horror fans, Tokyo case is a two-part 360˚ short film. Part 1 is available now, with part 2 set to launch on October 21. The short follows Remi, a natural psychic who takes over for a spiritual detective and seeks revenge the detective is killed by a vengeful spirit during an investigation.
- Alien Apocalypse – A 360˚ VR video based on H.G. Wells’s The War of the Worlds. Created by Brandon Piskorik.
- The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe – A modern interpretation of Poe’s “The Raven,” in this 180˚ VR experience, you meet Edgar Allan Poe in his mansion and witness his suffering as he spirals into grief and loneliness ultimately leading to his suicide.
- The Monster Challenge – In this VR experience, find “Five Nights at Freddy’s” Springtrap, Pennywise from “IT,” Michael Myers from the “Halloween” franchise, and Slender Man before they find you!
- Bendy – Inspired by “Bendy and the Ink Machine,” do you dare enter an abandoned theater featuring a film possessed by animated evil?
- Pennywise the Dancing Clown – Everyone’s favorite dancing clown is just dying to meet you in this VR experience filmed on location at the Derry Festival and Funhouse in Derry, Maine.
Meta’s Horizon Worlds will also be home to a Halloween-themed drive-in and creepy cabin. The abandoned drive-in will feature multiple screens where viewers can check out a collection of horror movies from Crypt TV, along with lurking ghosts, treacherous terrain, and a haunted carousel. The creepy cabin is an immersive 180˚ experience where you can wander the halls of the cabin by candlelight. But be on the lookout for creepy dolls, and whatever you do, don’t look in the mirror. You might not like what you see.
